An Introduction to Documentaries

A documentary is a film or TV programme which presents facts/stories about a person or event. They have many different purposes to reveal or preserve, persuade or promote, analyse or interrogate and to expose views or opinions to the rest of the public. Documentaries have had the power to change the publics view on organisations, cultures and morals.

There are four main types of documentary which give us an insight into how the genre is structured, these are: reflexive, poetic, observational and expository. This is a Powerpoint presentation that I have made which explains the different genres of documentaries.
